James Daniel Barnett

James Barnett

The Lord brightened our life by giving us our precious James.
He loved to laugh and sing and play all kinds of games.

He was so creative in writing art and song.
I think there is no one with whom he could not get along.

We will miss him as we think of him with love.
There is no doubt he now is singing with the heavenly choir above.

So when you think of James you may laugh, smile or cry.
But don’t worry about our boy, because he is happy beyond the sky.

The following is a paper James wrote when he got detention at school, Fall 1992.

What Really happened, so far.
By James Barnett
Based on true story

“Hut, Hut, Hick!”” said Chris loudly!

The day had gone good, so far.  Some of the guys were playing football, while others were on the monkey bars.  The girls were having a gymnastics contest while the teacher was half way asleep.  I was over trying to get to the swings.  They were puddled.  The recess was good, so far.

Me and my friend had nothing to do so we saw a mud puddle and threw rocks in it.  The teacher chocked on her whistle.  She said, “No throwing rocks.”  She told us to go to her and then she said, “You deserve something punishing like detention.”  Then I thought she pulled her brain out when she pulled her whistle out.

Me and him were doomed, then I wished I could do it all over again.

Dear Diary,

It was my mom’s birthday today.  We didn’t celebrate.  It was her 41st birthday.

I also did a report today.  It was on the major constellations.  Their was the ram, the crab, Andromeda, Centaurs, Orion, Pegasus, and more.                   James B.
